We start by asking Allah(SWT) to soften our hearts and make us realize the blessings that have been bestowed on all of us. What follows is essentially a plea to utilize what Allah(SWT) has given us as an Amanah in a worthwhile cause.

The Saskatoon Misbah School is a (non-profit) private full-time Islamic school located in Saskatoon, SK, Canada. It opened its door to its first students in the year 2000 and now offers PreSchool to Grade 8. We are affiliated with Saskatchewan Learning (Provincial curriculum) whose curriculum we utilize in our normal course of study. We are proud to say that in cases where our students have transferred to schools in other provinces, they have been promoted to higher grades which to us is a reflection of the educational excellence here at SMS. We also provide additional lessons in Arabic, Tajweed and Qur'an memorization. In fact, 2 of our students have completed the memorization of the Qur'an, Alhamdulillah.

We do consider it an imperative that all Muslim children have a chance to benefit from attending an Islamic school. As such, one of our achievements has been the ability to finance the education of a number of Muslim children. Please make yourselves familiar with some of the faces by taking a look at a video made by our students & supporters.

We are all aware of the various Ayahs and Hadith that make it clear to us the enjoining of Spending in the Way of Allah. We mention a few for the benefit of reminder.

"Allah will deprive usury of all blessing, but will give increase for deeds of charity, for He loves not creatures ungrateful and wicked. Those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, and establish regular prayers and regular charity, will have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve."
[2: 276,277].

"And be steadfast in your prayer and pay charity; whatever good you send forth for your future, you shall find it with Allah, for Allah is well aware of what you do" [2:110].

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said "No wealth (of a servant of Allah) is decreased because of charity." (Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 2247).

Brothers and sisters, we really need your help in continuing this noble endeavor. The money collected is to be used for one of two items:

1. Operation Expenditure - To help maintain the running of the school.

2. New Building - We took a loan to purchase a building for our children because the place we were renting was too small. We are trying our best to accommodate the growing demand for the service we provide. This in turn will help us reduce our operating costs leaving room for growth. This will be a place the children of Misbah School can call home.

Your donation to the school can become a source of continuous reward for you as it educates more brilliant minds who go onto contribute to the revival of Islam in this world, Insha'Allah. And in today's Canadian society there is a need for Muslims to diversify and invest in more than just places of Worship. And this will in no way take away from the Houses of Allah(SWT).

We are registered with the Canada Revenue Agency as a Charitable Organization and as such can issue Tax Deductible Receipts. Below is a copy of the letter from the CRA for your review. We usually issue the receipts well ahead of the deadlines and can issue them even earlier, upon request.

Our request to you is two-fold:

1. Please make a donation. We need $230,000 for the new building. You can make your donations from our website by downloading a pledge form, filling it out and attaching a cheque or money order:

2. Make du'a for us and if possible, arrange a booking for us at your local masjid after Jum'ah Salah to collect some funds. On our fundraising trips we try our best to issue all receipts at the locations. So if anyone affiliated with a masjid would like to provide us with an opportunity for fundraising, that will be great.

We need your help and support to continue running this Islamic school which will Insha'Allah continue to provide a uniquely Canadian Islamic Education.
